I became an Army early of this year, 2021. Nervous to join an already thriving group and fandom, i came to find my second home and my greatest remedy. A year before Covid fell upon us, I was showing signs of major depression but it wasn’t until late 2020 then did I decide to accept help professionally. I dropped out of college, feeling like a complete failure. I quit my job and moved back in with my parents. I wasn’t happy with where I was at, who I was, and everything around me. I always had hope for myself and knew this soon would past but even then I was stressed about when it would come for me. There were very few things that I found made me happy and some days it was hard to hold onto those things. One Tuesday afternoon I was having an anxiety attack just being home, so I took myself outside to my car and to the top of the mountain point, parked my car, and sat for 5 hours crying and praying for help. i was exhausted. I tried to listen to different songs knowing music usually helped calm me down, but nothing was really helping until I stumbled upon a BTS song - Life Goes On. Heck I didn’t know what they were saying except for the few words in the chorus, and the repeating lyrics of Life Goes on. It gave me a little sense of peace, although I was still a crying mess I listened to that same song on repeat the rest of that night and into the next month. I looked more into BTS that night and their BE album and became very attached quickly to their music and the warm feelings I was getting too. From there it’s history, I became an Army very quickly. I did go back to work, and am thriving in my job. I am working on my self care each day and know whats best for me when I do have hard days. Overall, BTS keeps me sane and grounded. Everyday is a new challenge but im grateful to this year especially bts for helping me find new ways to appreciate life and all its beauty and to better improve myself each day. 💜
