They say you find BTS when you need them the most. For my case I would say that's true. I became a mom at a fairly young age (22). 2 months after my daughter was born she began to experience really bad seizures. When she was 6 months old we got the diagnosis of a rare neurological disorder called CDKL5. That's where our long journey of hospital stays began. I was so depressed and honestly hopeless. Seeing my child suffer and go through something I had no control over drove me to basically hate life.
On one of the worse hospitalizations where my daughter (Leah) had to be intubated right before Covid I started coming across BTS videos on IG. Seeing them sing and dance made my heart so happy and gave me a way to escape the hospital walls even if it was just for a couple minutes. BTS helped me rediscover myself. They helped me see myself for myself and not just a special needs mom. They helped me see that it's not selfish for taking care of myself as well and to focus on my mental health. Fast forward almost 5 years and here I am 50lbs lighter and enjoying each day I get with my sweet Leah. I'm so grateful for BTS they definitely brought light into mine and Leah's life. Leah is also an Army and even though she is nonverbal she has shown enjoyment for their music and videos. One day in the future I hope to be able to take her to a concert with me, so we can experience the beautiful purple ocean together 💜
